After watching the video about Niels Diffrient "Rethinking how we sit down', I've come to the conclusion that life can take you anywhere, and do anything. Niels Diffrient started out wanting to design/create airplanes in the 30's. A cool approach for an interesting life. He didn't get to do what he really wanted to do in life. But, he did still get to do something that was sort of related to what he originally wanted to do: drawing airplanes. He enjoyed doing it enough, to have done it for 25 years! Until he grew tired of it. Then he decides to design his own office chair! Completely random, and having absolutely nothing to do with his original goal for what he wanted to do in life. I'm glad he designed his own new office chair. He took an already existing item, and made it better ten fold! At the end of the video, he seemed so proud of himself for what he had accomplished in his life. I don't blame him at all!! It's great seeing or hearing about things like this. Someone taking an already existing item, and making it even better than when it was originally made!
Homework #5
After reading the interview with movie poster creator Dustin Stanton, it really made me realize how important and crucial it is to make a movie poster/teaser. You want to make sure the viewers view your movie poster the same way you do. Obviously you want to make sure that the movie poster makes sense with what the movie is about. I feel like this is one of those things where asking yourself: "Is this good enough?" could be good, and bad. It would be good, by everyone agreeing that the movie poster is perfect, and doesn't need anything else. It would be bad, by making you think about what more you could've put on the movie poster, and if it is really done. Me being a HUGE video game nerd, could easily relate while reading this interview. Well, not me personally. But it made me think of cover arts for video games. Boy, has that changed a LOT over the years. Think about it, a movie could do good or bad depending on the poster for it. A video game could sell good or bad...
